Supporting victims and survivors of violence in football

Interacting with YourSide is always confidential, voluntary, and driven by the individual choice. Our Secretariat (staff) are trauma-informed and supported by culturally responsive regional experts. They handle all personal data securely and in strict accordance with confidentiality protocols.

YourSide operates independently and does not share information with any other organisation unless you give your explicit consent.

Confidentiality is protected to the fullest extent permitted by law, ensuring that you stay in control of your information and your next steps.

What we do

YourSide offers a safe and impartial space for confidential disclosure, grounded in survivor-centred, trauma-informed principles and expert support services.

With your informed consent, YourSide can facilitate referrals to the appropriate football authorities — at the national, continental (confederation), or international level — including FIFA’s judicial bodies.

YourSide is not an investigatory body. We work within the framework of the FIFA Code of Ethics and applicable law. If a case falls outside FIFA’s jurisdiction, we can support you in referring it to the competent authority — always with your consent - or on your behalf.

Why we do this

Sexual, emotional, and physical violence in sport is a global issue — harming athletes, damaging the integrity of football, and affecting society as a whole. Too often, these incidents, especially sexual abuse, go unreported.

YourSide represents a landmark step forward in how international football responds to interpersonal violence. By taking a trauma-informed approach, we ensure that no case is ignored.

YourSide maintains a policy of timely and responsive advocacy that works to improve accountability in all cases of violence, coercion and/or abuse.
