Dr. Gabriela Garton is a former professional football player, who represented Argentina at the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup, and is now Player Relations Coordinator at the World Players Association, leading its work on women’s sports and its academic network. She is also a member of the Advisory Council for the Athlete’s Network for Safer Sports and has worked as a casual lecturer and research assistant at the Institute for Health and Sport at Victoria University in Melbourne, Australia. Her book, “Guerreras: Football, Women, and Power”, was the first postgraduate dissertation on elite women’s football in Argentina.
